Volunteer Opportunities and Our Board of Directors
Schenectady Civic Playhouse is an entirely volunteer organization and we’re always looking for new faces. If you are merely looking to pound a few nails, wield a paint brush, and get to know other people, you are always welcome!
If responsibility and supervisory roles are more up your alley, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to become part of the Playhouse organization, membership and committees. Here are a few of the ways you can become part of the theater community.
Behind the Scenes
|Back Stage||Work on building our sets and props.|
|Stage Crew||See the show from the wings, and help change the set between scenes.|
|Costumes||Help coordinate and care for costumes for a show.|
|Hair and Makeup||Be there to help create the illusion and help make the actors look good.|
|Lights and Sound||Learn to operate the light and sound technology and play an important
role in the production.
|House Managers||Oversee the lobby pre-show and during the intermission.|
|Ushers||Take tickets and help patrons find their seats before seeing the show.|
|Hospitality||Prepare and serve the snacks at intermission.|
